Jomtien has a better air, beach and water condition. It's much more laid back than Pattaya, a small town compared to Pattaya city and a must visit. It's has a good night market which Pattaya City lacks. Soi.7 and Soi Whitehouse are the two main drinking bar streets and then Soi.3,4 and 5 are low key. Soi.6 is a dead end and contains only massage places and a hotel/apartment block or 2.

Personally, I change enough to equate to about 2,000 Baht, this pays for my transfer from airport to my place of stay and have change. I bring cash with me and change it at TT Money exchange who tend to have the best rate 99% of the time. Also, if you have a Thai bank account it would be an advantage to send money to it for a better rate, click here - https://goo.gl/f55sC2(https://goo.gl/f55sC2)

There are 6 ways to get from Pattaya to Phetchaburi by ferry, train, bus, taxi or hire car. The best way is down to preference/convienience/travelling time etc. The cheapest is Minivan and the fastest is Taxi. If you prefer not to travel by road you can take ferry to Hua Hin from Pattaya and then a train.
